The Quadruple Betrayal

The Sanctuary was now legally “occupied” by a man who answered to a pagan king rather

than the Law of Moses. This was the first act that effectively turned the Temple into a Greek political office, officially launching the Subterfuge that would eventually lead to the complete takeover of both the true king line of David, and the true Priest line of Zadok that became the corrupt Jerusalem that Yashava the Messiah walked into. Next we will provide the step by step historical events that the Roman Catholic Church and her harlot daughters kept out of the bible to hide it from you.

The Second Bribe (172 B.C.) Just three years after Jason bought the priesthood, he sent a man named Menelaus to King Antiochus to deliver the tribute money. Menelaus, seeing the “commodity” for sale, outbid Jason by 300 talents of silver and stole the office for himself. The Thief: Menelaus (historically identified as a Benjaminite, not even a Levite). The Crime: He broke the biological Law of the Priesthood entirely, placing a non-Levite in the Holy of Holies. This move effectively stripped the Sanctuary of its last shred of scriptural legitimacy, handing the “Holy of Holies” over to a man who had zero right according to the Holy Covenant Law of Yahavah to be there.

That’s the “point of no return” for the Sanctuary. Once Menelaus (the non-Levite) outbid Jason, the Priesthood was no longer just corrupted—it was legally severed from the Holy Covenant Law that Moses recorded down. Then came The Total Breakdown (c. 172–170 B.C.) To pay back the massive bribe he promised the King, Menelaus did the unthinkable: he began stealing the gold vessels directly from the Temple to sell them. The rightful High Priest, Onias III, spoke out against this temple-robbing from his place of exile, but Menelaus didn’t argue scripture; he hired an assassin (Andronicus) to murder Onias III. With the rightful “Old Guard” dead and a non-Levite “thief” occupying the office, the First Betrayal was complete. The Sanctuary was now a political engine fueled by murder and Greek silver.

Now we come to the second betrayal which was performed by the Maccabees. They rose up in 167 BC to fight the corruption of Menelaus and the Greeks. While they started as “liberators,” they eventually became the Second Betrayal by illegally taking the High Priesthood for themselves despite not being the lawful line of Levites.

While the Maccabees (the Hasmoneans) are often celebrated as heroes for kicking out the Greeks and Menelaus, they committed a legal crime that solidified the “Inside Job.” The Hasmonean Usurpation (152 B.C.). The Maccabees were Levites, but they were of the line of Joarib, not the high-priestly line of Zadok. By taking the office for themselves, they permanently broke the Holy Covenant Law of the Sanctuary. Jonathan Apphus (the youngest brother of Judas Maccabeus) accepted the High Priesthood as a political gift from a Syrian usurper (Alexander Balas) rather than by divine right. This created a “Hybrid Power” where the same family held both the sword and the censer, a direct violation of the separate power structures that was foundational to the Judaen government.

The Hasmonean (Maccabean) line took the “Inside Job” to the next level by merging the two separate power structures and effectively brought about The Evolution of theThe Third Betrayal: The Seed of the Curse (63 B.C. – 37 B.C.)
