Is it Easter, Esther, Ishtar, or Ashtoreth?

If we take a look back into the original writing of the Hebrew language, we find that Easter, Esther, and Ishtar are the exact same word. In this study, we will show that the reason they share an identical spelling is that they are actually the same person in the historical records. All three names are originally derived from the biblical Ashtoreth (the Queen of Heaven) who led Jerusalem astray and brought about their Babylonian captivity.

To understand how this subterfuge was carried out, we must first look at the raw data of the Hebrew script—the ‘consonantal root’—where the masks of these three names are stripped away.

The Forensic Evidence: The “Vowel Mask” To understand how these three names are actually one, we have to look at how the original Hebrew language was written. Unlike English, ancient Hebrew did not use vowels (A, E, I, O, U). It only used consonants—the hard skeletal sounds of a word. Think of the consonants as the DNA of a name, and the vowels as the clothing or the mask that the name wears. You can change the clothes, but the DNA remains the same.

Exhibit A: The Linguistic Skeleton In the original Hebrew, the names for Ishtar, Esther, and the root of Easter are all built on the same skeletal frame: א-ס-ת-ר (A-S-T-R)

When the “Master Deceiver” wants to hide a Babylonian goddess in plain sight, he simply changes the “mask” (the vowels):

  • The Ishtar Mask: You breathe “i” and “a” into the frame: I-S-T-A-R.
  • The Esther Mask: You breathe “e” and “e” into the frame: E-S-T-E-R.
  • The Easter Mask: You speak the name in a modern tongue, and the phonetic sound remains E-A-S-T-E-R.

The “Yod” Variable In some versions of the spelling, a fifth letter called a Yod (י) is added. In forensics, this is known as a “vowel marker.” It’s like the difference between spelling a name “Sara” or “Sarah.” The extra letter doesn’t change the person; it just changes the “spelling” to help the reader with the pronunciation.

Whether you see four letters or five, the DNA (the root) points to the same entity: The Queen of Heaven. By using this “Vowel Subterfuge,” the historical record was successfully hijacked. Most people believe they are looking at three different subjects, but the Hebrew ledger proves they are looking at one suspect using two different aliases and a modern holiday as a disguise.

Exhibit B: The Connection to Ashtoreth Now that we have identified the suspect through her linguistic DNA, we must look at her “Mode of Operation.” Ashtoreth is the primary name used in the Hebrew scriptures to describe the entity that the modern world now knows as Easter.

  1. The Plurality of the Root: In Hebrew, Ashtar-oth is simply the plural form of the root A-S-T-R. It refers to the many “images” or “groves” of the goddess.
  2. The “Shame” Vowels: The Hebrew scribes were so repulsed by this entity that they took the consonants A-S-T-R and forced the vowels from the Hebrew word bosheth (meaning “shame”) into the name. This transformed “Astarte” into “Ashtoreth.” It was a forensic “tagging” to tell the reader: This name represents a shameful deception.
  3. The Geographic Trail: As the “Master Deceiver” moved through different nations, the name changed slightly:
    • In Babylon: Ishtar
    • In Canaan: Ashtoreth
    • In Persia: Esther
    • In the Modern West: Easter

The “Smoking Gun” Summary:

“If the Name matches (A-S-T-R), the Title matches (Queen of Heaven), and the Ritual matches (Cakes/Eggs/Spring), then the verdict is clear: Ashtoreth didn’t disappear—she just rebranded.”

Exhibit C: The Evidence of the Betrayal (Jeremiah 7 & 44) Now that we have identified the suspect through her linguistic DNA, we must look at the “Crime Scene.” The prophet Jeremiah was a witness to the very moment this entity—under the name Ashtoreth, the Queen of Heaven—led the people into a trap.

The Mode of Operation (M.O.) In Jeremiah 7:18 (KJV), we see the family-wide participation: “The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.”

The “Audit” of the Rituals If you compare the ancient record to modern practices, the fingerprints match perfectly:

  • The Title: Both Ishtar and Ashtoreth were officially titled the “Queen of Heaven.”
  • The Offering: They baked “cakes” (the ancestors of the “hot cross bun”).
  • The Consequence: Because they refused to give up this “Subterfuge,” the sanctuary was betrayed and the people were dragged into the Babylonian Captivity.
  • The Abomination: The Christian early Sunday Morning sunrise service, is the exact same sunrise service that Yahavah calls and abomination to Him in Ezekiel 8:16-18.

The Verdict: For the last two thousand years, the Prince of this world has successfully used this linguistic camouflage to get Yahavah’s children to unknowingly thumb their noses at Him, while continuing the ancient worship of His adversary!
