To be absolutely, bluntly honest with you: The direct answer is NO! It is definitely, beyond all doubt, a Roman Catholic Greek perversion of the Apostle Matthew’s Gospel, which was originally written by the Apostle Matthew in the Hebrew dialect. Your Christian teachers have been absolutely lying to you, either by ignorance or by intentional deceit (depending on how highly educated they are). Anyone who has diligently researched the early church writers and still claims that the Gospel According to Matthew was originally written in the Greek dialect is disseminating false information!
The early Christian Church historians left sufficient facts and evidence—enough to be considered rock-solid proof—that the Apostle Matthew wrote his Gospel to the Hebrews in the Hebrew dialect, and that the Roman Catholic Christian Mother Church altered it significantly when she rewrote it in the Greek dialect. By the time the reader reviews the evidence, they, too, will know beyond all doubt that this Christian deception has been orchestrated over the generations to intentionally deceive the public and prevent them from returning to Yahavah’s Holy Covenant.

The Papias Timeline
Birth: c. 60 – 70 AD
Born during the Apostolic era, while the original disciples were still active and the Hebrew records were the primary source for the early “Fold.”
Active Ministry & Research: c. 90 – 110 AD
This is his “Information Gathering” phase. During this window, he was a “hearer of John” (the Apostle) and a companion of Polycarp. This is when he would have confirmed the origin of Matthew’s Gospel.
Writing of The Exposition: c. 110 – 130 AD
He composed his five volumes, Exposition of the Oracles of the Lord, during this time. This is where he recorded the “Star Witness” testimony: “Matthew composed the oracles in the Hebrew dialect.”
Death/Martyrdom: c. 135 AD
Most historical chronologies place his death around 135 AD, often linked to a Roman crackdown in Asia Minor (Pergamum).

So, here we have Papias as our star witness. This man was a companion to Polycarp and a hearer of the words of the Apostle John, and he wrote a five-volume set on the teachings of Yashava. Yet the early church “Christian Fathers” claimed he was stupid and that he was irrelevant! Go figure; his five-volume set disappeared from history. Fortunately, the same early Christian writers who did everything in their power to discredit him are also the ones from whom we can learn some of his information. This man was not only a follower of the true churches of Christ; he was the bishop of Hierapolis, which was six miles from Laodicea.

“Matthew, who had at first preached to the Hebrews, when he was about to go to other peoples, committed his Gospel to writing in his native tongue, and thus compensated those whom he was obliged to leave for the loss of his presence.”

Additional Note: Eusebius is also the primary historian who preserved the quotes from Papias and documented that the Ebionites (early Hebrew followers) used the “Gospel according to the Hebrews.”
Oddly enough, Eusebius is one of the primary people who called Papias stupid and irrelevant, and considered the Nazarenes and Ebionites as heretics—even though he recorded the proof that they were all tightly connected with and part of Christ’s true churches. He also considered the Hebrew Gospel of Matthew to be a perverted copy of the Greek, even though he recorded that Matthew originally wrote it in Hebrew. This is more strong evidence that it was the Christians who were pushing out the Followers of Christ and rewriting history to hide their takeover from future generations.

The Greek Perversion Versus Matthew’s Gospel!
The Roman Catholic Christian Mother Church was adamant in the complete destruction of every last copy (to our knowledge) of Matthew’s original Gospel to the Hebrews. Therefore, the only information we can glean from the real Gospel of Matthew is what the adversaries of Christ (the early Christian historians) wrote about it and quoted from it to discredit the followers of Christ because they adhered to the teachings of the apostles instead of following the Christian faith.
However, they did preserve enough statements and quotes from the original Gospel of Matthew for us to confirm that the Greek version that the Roman Catholic Christian Mother Church gave to us is a Pseudepigrapha writing, that added two complete chapters and deleted key information concerning Yashava’s baptism. We will now bring forth relevant statements and quotes that stand as direct witness to these facts.

The Forged Preamble: Chapters 1 and 2
The most significant act of the Roman Catholic Christian Mother Church was the attachment of a “new head” onto the Apostle’s body of work. The original Gospel of Matthew did not begin with a miraculous birth or a star in the east; it began with the mission of the Messenger. To prove this, we look to the very historians who were tasked with managing the Roman archives. They admit that the groups who possessed the “Authentic Matthew”—the Nazarenes and the Ebionites—had a Gospel that lacked these first two chapters.

EXHIBIT C: The Stolen Voice (The First-Person Signature)
The ultimate proof that the Greek Matthew is a Pseudepigrapha (a writing falsely attributed to someone) is found in the “Linguistic Hijack” of the Apostle’s voice. In the Roman Greek version, the writer speaks about Matthew as a stranger. In the original Hebrew Record, the Apostle speaks for himself.

“And passing by the Lake of Tiberias, He [Yashava] chose John and James, the sons of Zebedee, and Simon and Andrew and Thaddaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot; and YOU, MATTHEW, I called as you sat at the receipt of custom, and you followed me. The Forensic Verdict: In any court of law, a First-Person Witness Statement (“He chose me“) is the highest form of evidence. The Roman Catholic Christian Mother Church performed a “Grammatical Identity Theft” by changing the Apostle’s confession into a third-person narrative (“He saw a man“). They didn’t just translate the book; they erased the man so they could more easily insert their own “Gentile” myths into the text.
The Witness of Epiphanius (Witnessing the Beginning)

Note: This is direct testimony that the original Gospel began on what we now have as Chapter 3. This matches perfectly with where the Apostle John’s Gospel begins and the Disciple Mark’s Gospel begins.
The Witness of Epiphanius (The Adversary’s Admission)
“In the Gospel that they [the Ebionites] use… the Gospel according to Matthew… which is not entire and perfect, but corrupted and spurious… they have taken away the genealogy of Matthew.”

The early church historian was accusing Christ’s followers of leaving out the genealogy of Christ, when in fact it was the Roman Catholic Christian Mother Church that was adding in His so-called genealogy with the two extra chapters that they added. Why did they add in the extra two chapters and make it sound like Matthew’s work, you ask? Because without adding those two fictitious chapters, they could not have passed off their pagan-originated virgin birth story!
Think very carefully! If Christ was born of a virgin birth, then He could not be the first resurrected of the children. He would have inherited His right for resurrection by birth, which we cannot ever claim! If He was born by the Holy Spirit and a virgin birth, then He was half-God and half-man, which we are not, and we could not claim Him as our eldest brother.
If Yashava was born of the Holy Spirit and not transformed by the Holy Spirit, then we have no hope of salvation through resurrection by the Holy Spirit! If He was born of man and transformed by the Holy Spirit, then He is indeed the firstborn of the brethren, and our hope of Salvation!

“They [the Ebionites] confess that the world was made by Him who is in reality God; but they say that Jesus [Yashava] was the son of Joseph and Mary according to the ordinary course of human generation, and that He was more righteous, prudent, and wise than other men.”

The Witness of Epiphanius (Quoting the Hebrew Matthew)
In his attempt to discredit the “Followers of the Way,” Epiphanius preserved the opening of their Gospel. Notice how the voice from heaven says something completely different than what is found in the Greek version we have today:
“And as he [Yashava] came up out of the water, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Holy Spirit of God in the form of a dove, which descended and entered into him. And a voice came from heaven, saying: ‘Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased’; and again: ‘This day have I begotten thee.’“

This was a direct quote right from the original Gospel of Matthew, and had the Roman Catholic Christian Mother Church allowed that to stay in their fictitious Greek version, it would have proven He was begotten in the same exact manner that we have the opportunity to be begotten.
